Project: Lost and Found

Our project: "Lost and Found"

1. We started reading "Lost and Found" by Oliver Jeffers:

Title:   Lost and Found
Author: Oliver Jeffers
Illustrator: Oliver Jeffers

2.  Up to ..."the little boy thought that the penguin was lost..."

...Where do penguins live?
North Pole? South Pole? In the Jungle?

We wanted to help the little boy and the penguin. Some children said:

. "Penguins live in igloos."

. "Penguins live in water, very cold water ."

. "Penguins live at the North Pole."

. "Penguins live at the South Pole, on Antarctica."

We weren't sure!
We didn't want to kill the poor penguin sending him to the wrong place.  We decided to  look for information:

. Books

. Magazines

. DVDs, You Tube, Videos

. Internet

3. Now we know that:
"Most  penguins live  at the South Pole on Antarctica. There are 17 species of penguins and all of them live in the Southern Hemisphere."

ANIMALS THAT LIVE AT THE NORTH POLE and SOUTH POLE

"Penguins eat seafood: fish, squid and krill."

"Penguins can waddle, slide, swim and dive. But they can't fly."

waddle

slide

swim

dive

Penguins are birds but they can't fly.

4. We finished reading/enjoying the book. Then we watched the film.
